No one was trying to look perfect, no one was “creating content” it was just life, as it happened with all the awkward angles, dodgy zooms and it’s where the magic is.
That’s exactly what I’m bringing back with The Home Camcorder. Let’s go back to seeing your big days and the little moments through the eyes of your friends and family. No set up shots that feel polished, just proper raw moments that actually feel like you. The laughs, the tears, the funky dance moves… all the bits you’ll want to watch back for years.

A note from our founder
Hi, I’m Jordan, you’ve most likely stumbled across this concept from TikTok and I’m so excited that you’ve discovered The Home Camcorder.
I’ve always been into all things post-production and editing has always been a focus in my life from the age of 14 (maybe too much of a focus throughout school when I should’ve been doing my homework)! I started my actual career in editing at just 18 years old, fresh out of a vocational Media Production course in college. I’m now 24 and since then I’ve edited over 200 wedding videos, turns out not paying attention in school worked out for me!
The Home camcorder is all about capturing the raw and real moments that were once captured on our own home camcorders. We all used to pick up a camcorder with purpose and it’s my mission to bring that back, especially on the most important days of our lives.
I can’t wait to see what everyone films this year and equally would love to see what you’d capture too.
Our journey so far
2024
The very beginning. If only I’d known what I was about to start! It all began with a few TikTok videos, just me sharing an idea with a bunch of strangers online. I never expected the reaction that followed. The messages started pouring in, and it became clear there was a real love for this concept. Before I knew it, The Home Camcorder was born.
That first year brought 11 hires for weddings, hens and even births. Those early couples and families will always have a special place in my heart. They trusted me with something completely new, and their excitement and feedback made me realise this was the start of something truly special.
2025
This year, things are moving faster than I ever could have imagined. Word is spreading quickly, and The Home Camcorder’s bookings fill up almost as soon as they open. It’s not been easy, as bookings come, so does a whole lot of admin (my worst nightmare) but somehow watching back every clip has made it worth it, a million times over!
So far, there have been over 45 hires, and I’m constantly amazed by the moments people capture through the lens of their loved ones. Each video tells a story that’s raw, real and full of personality. It’s been a whirlwind season and I've practically been stuck to my desk chair and may be starting to get square eyes too!
2026
Looking ahead, 2026 is already looking to be just as special. The season’s couples are already organised and waiting for their big day, and I can already tell it’s going to be another year full of memories waiting to be preserved. There’s always something to learn and improve, and that’s what I love most about this journey. Every bit of feedback helps me refine the experience and make it even more personal.
Running The Home Camcorder has shown me that people don’t just want to remember their big days, they want to feel them again. That’s what this is all about. I can’t wait for what the following years have in store.
